Zone Denmark’s design partner Sofie Lefèvre doesn’t have much patience for the ordinary—or the routine grind of everyday life. Guided by a bold creative spirit and insatiable curiosity, she continually pushes boundaries and follows her instincts wherever they lead.
Her design journey has taken her across disciplines and continents, and most recently to the top of the podium at the prestigious Red Dot Design Awards, where she earned the coveted ‘Best of the Best’ distinction.
Sofie is the force behind the design studio MAVRO//LEFÈVRE and has been collaborating with Zone Denmark for several years. What began with a watering can has since grown into a series of joyful, distinctive designs that bring delight wherever they appear.
"I love the fact that we work both closely and strategically. Sometimes we work with the direction of the brand at the highest level, and other times with individual collections and products."

Disc Stool
One of Sofie Lefèvre’s standout collaborations with Zone Denmark is the award-winning DISC furniture series. Developed under the concept of ‘Urban Spaces,’ the goal was to inspire people to enjoy the often-overlooked outdoor nooks of city life—balconies, courtyards, and pocket parks. To do that, the design needed to be intuitive, easy to handle, and highly versatile. The result? The patented DISC foldable outdoor furniture collection—smart, stylish, and made for modern urban living.
Sofie’s design philosophy is deeply shaped by her creative upbringing. Raised in a home steeped in art and culture—with a museum professional father and a schoolteacher mother—she was encouraged from a young age to explore, experiment, and express. Her childhood motto? “I’m just going to try!” That same spirit of curiosity and confidence fuels her work today. Sofie brings a deep interest in history, architecture, and—most of all—people to every project. “I spend a lot of time analyzing human behavior. How do we interact with a product? Where does it live in our space? Understanding how we think and act is essential to creating meaningful design.”
With an MSc in Design and Communication from Copenhagen Business School and a double master’s degree in Innovation Design and Engineering from the Royal College of Art and Imperial College London, Sofie brings both academic rigor and artistic intuition to her work. When asked to name a personal favorite, she highlights two designs: “Apart from DISC, I’d choose the TIME series. It strikes a balance between past and present—that was the goal. The clean lines and graphic simplicity, without feeling too rigid, really reflect my design style.”
